So a week into my great escape and I’m writing a blog.

I suppose there are worse things than being predictable.

But they do say stick to what you know and you won’t go far wrong…so here goes.

This blog is an attempt to put down some of the things I hope I will learn – about Cape Town, about South Africa and along the way hopefully a little bit about myself.

I’ve given up my job, a cushy life at home with Mar and a great group of friends to try out a different world.

Hopefully the skills I’ve learned along the way in PR will help me to find some friends, some fun and maybe even at some stage a job!?

Let’s hope I have not just the right lawn mower….but the wherewithal to get the cash to buy one!
